September marks the end of peak summer season in Croatia and is the favorite month of travel to Umag for those who don't like crowds. • Istrian Wine Run (September 7): Istrian wine run combines a kids run, a half marathon and a marathon with one of the biggest wine festivals in NW Istria. Run begins in Umag.
• Champions Bowl (September 8 to 15): World junior tennis tournament.
• ITF GMP Cup (September 9 to 14): International tennis championship.
• International old-timer rally (September 6 to 8): Exposition of classic cars.
• Gnam-Gnam Fest (September 7): Sardine and other oily fish festival in Novigrad.
• Wine & Walk by the Sea (September 28): Welcome Fall by walking and tasting Istrian wines in Novigrad.
• Aminess Wine & Gourmet Nights (September 27): Gourmet specialties at Aminess Hotel in Novigrad.
• St. Jerome Festival (September 30): Folk festival.
• Holiday of Grapes (September 13 to 15): Wine celebration in Buje.
