February is filled with Carnival festivities. Towns throughout Istria hold Carnival celebrations with festive events with participants disguised as anything they'd like to be, celebrating the passing of all unpleasant events of the past year and welcoming the beginning of a new year. The Rijeka Carnival is the largest Carnival in Croatia. Bring your masks and join the fun and exciting festivities.

Here are the highlights of Umag events for February:

• Carnival (February): Carnival festivities throughout Istrian towns, including Umag.
• Days of Seashells (February 14 to March 20): Seashell-themed menus in restaurants.
• Choco & Wine Fest (February 16 to 17): Chocolate and wine festival in Brtonigla.
• Adventure Trekk (February 17): Trekk race in Brtonigla.
• Umag Trophy (February 28): One-day race on the international calendar of the World Cycling Organization UCI.
